Playing Catch-up

Playground time
Constantly moving!
LOVE THAT FACE!!
Makin' sure she smells good! She sees all of us do this every day - she is such a little sponge!
Bailey represented her school in the district Character Counts essay contest. We are so proud of her!!

A super duper talented girl at our church made this dress for Morgan. Isn't it FAB?!?!

Our chicken met their maker rather unfortunately, so here are our new ones!!

Bailey went to DC for the weekend with the Safety Patrols and this is her early-morning send-off!!

Sweet baby face!

LOVIN' MY GIRLS!!
So, I've caught a little bit of flack lately for not updating my family blog, but I pointed out that if you're on Facebook, you've seen most of these pictures already. Some people, who shall remain nameless, are still holdin' out on me!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Morgan had just hit me in the face in this pic! Photo ops are treacherous these days!!
Notice how we're all looking in a different direction!
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, moms-to-be, grandmoms, stepmoms, foster moms, adopted moms, and special women who are like moms. I was blessed to be able to spend the day with my two precious angels and my dear sweet mama (& Chris and Daddy)! We went to church together and then enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Bonefish Grill. The place was packed but we were seated promptly, the food was delicious, and the service was great. Even Morgan behaved her sweet self, eating bread, popcorn shrimp, and fries! Mom loved her gifts and I loved mine, too! The whole weekend was nice - I got to sleep in and scrapbook on Saturday, and Chris cooked a delicious steak dinner. We then went out to see "Dark Shadows," which was a pretty bad movie, but the time together with Chris and the hot, buttery popcorn were perfect!! I am so very thankful for my wonderful family!

Red, White, & Morgan

The BEST outfits are the ones that cost next-to-nothing but look amazing, and this is one of those outfits! I bought it for less that $5 at the Picky Chick Consignment Sale and it looks so completely fantastic on her that I want her to wear it every day! And those SHOES - another big bargain! And check out that hair! It's finally coming in and it's curly! Now if it would just be red . . .

See you soon!!

Happy Easter!!

We had such a wonderful day with my sweet family today! We went to church with my mom & dad and enjoyed a lovely service with beautiful music. "Christ the Lord is Risen Today" is one of my favorite old hymns! After church, we went out to lunch and enjoyed a delicious meal. Everyone behaved and mommy got to enjoy her peanut crusted catfish! Yummy! I am so proud of and thankful for my beautiful family. What a glorious day to spend together celebrating our risen Savior!

See you soon!!

Bunny Brunch

A couple of months ago, I ate at Bravo Italian Restaurant and found out that they were having an Easter Bunny Brunch and I was completely psyched!! I just love stuff like this and I couldn't wait to dress up the girls in their Easter finery. My sweet mama joined us and we had the best time! The brunch was delicious, especially the bacon and French toast. Morgan was fond of her toast - she's a simple girl!! She was surprisingly cool around the 6 foot rabbit who greeted her at the door and even managed a smile! It was such a lovely morning spent with three of my very favorite people!

Easter Eggstravaganza 2012

Our church hosts an annual Easter Egg Hunt for preschoolers and we are NUTS for holiday activities!! Bailey and the other older siblings helped hide the eggs and by "hide," I mean throw them randomly in the front yard of the church in full view of everyone within a mile radius!! Morgan enjoyed exploring the premises, dragging her basket around, and checking out the competition, but once the actual hunt began, she could not have cared less! Oh, well, hopefully by next year she'll be more interested in the actual "eggstravaganza" but we sure did get some cute pictures this year!!

See you soon!!

The Magic of Cacao Atlanta

So, as I mentioned in my last post, Chris and I went to Atlanta for the weekend to celebrate our 17th anniversary. The kids stayed with my parents and did well. Well enough that my mom actually said that they might keep the kids overnight again at some point in the far future! :D One of the place I wanted to visit was Cacao Atlanta, an award-winning chocolate shop that makes its products in-house from the purest ingredients. I chose several of their truffles, two macarons, a bag of homemade vanilla marshmallows (for Bailey), and a cup of Azteca Aphrodisiac Sipping Chocolate (voted best hot chocolate in America!) which is rich dark chocolate cocoa infused with six different chiles and spices. It was amazing!! Unique and thick and rich and unlike anything I have ever tried. Chris and I shared an 8 oz. cup, which is petite by my typical drink standards, but we sat together and sipped it for a while. De-lish! So, I have posted a few pics to show you how my truffles were packaged. This is no pop-in-your-mouth-as-you're-walking-out-the-door piece of chocolate, as evidenced by the care taken in packaging them. It takes a few minutes to properly unpackage them, as well. Here's the procedure:
1.) untie carefully tied grosgrain ribbon
2.) remove lid of box
3.) gingerly lift sticker from glassine paper
4.) unfold glassine paper and remove paper liner
5.) take a nap after this exhaustive procedure!

I would post more pics, but it has taken me forever to post these in order. See you soon!!
