Becoming Mothers Website

I'm receiving about 6-8 pregnancy-related e-mails per day that I typically glance at and then delete. I'm so glad I checked out the website Becoming Mothers, that was mentioned in an e-mail from The Bump that offered a $10 discount on a $20 order (coupon code: bump10w). I found the Bella Band on the website and immediately ordered one! Can't wait till it arrives - I'll report back when I've tried it out!

Barefoot Contessa Makes Me Sick!!

Don't get me wrong, I am a faithful follower of all things Barefoot Contessa, but on yesterday's episode, I thought I was going to vomit on my TV!! So, she's making a special anniversary meal for her husband of 40 years (awwww!!) and it's some sort of wedding soup with meatballs. No big deal . . . until she starts making the *chicken* meatballs . . . with raw ground chicken and chicken sausage!! It makes me nauseated just typing the words! Hopefully, I'll have something more scintillating for you soon!!

In Case You Didn't Know . . .

Girl Scout cookies are from the devil! And I have a car full of them to prove it!! We bought 6-7 boxes to support Bailey's Brownie Troop, but if I don't deliver them soon, this pregnant woman who lives here is going to eat them all (that's me!!), which would seriously cut into our vacation budget!! My favorite are the Lemons Chalet Cremes, the under appreciated, non-chocolate flavor! I could easily chalk it up to pregnancy cravings, but . . . :)

A New Lemmons Arrived Today!!

Welcome Miss Eliza Rose to the Lemmons Clan!! Chris's brother Greg, and his wife, Rebekah, who live in New York, had their sweet baby today! Eliza Rose was born this morning weighing in at 8 lbs. 15 oz. (WOW!) and Mom & baby are doing well. I hope she eventually has her mom's beautiful curly dark hair, but for now it's straight, according to Greg. Can't wait to get my hands on their precious angel!!

Expectant Mother Parking

Never have I seen a more exciting sign than that one: EXPECTANT MOTHER PARKING!! Praise the Lord!! I had 5 minutes till I was due at Bunko last night, but I had to go to Williams-Sonoma at the mall to get salt . . . not just ANY old table salt . . . SUPER SPECIAL Fleur de Sel (you're impressed, aren't you?!) to sprinkle on these amazing chocolate truffles I'm going to make. So, it's Friday night, 7 p.m., and I'm driving around the mall parking lot looking for a space. Yeah, like I'm ever going to find one near the main entrance, so I move over a bit to another entrance and spot a single parking space! So I wheel around into that space and notice it's been saved just for me: EXPECTANT MOTHER PARKING! (cue angels!) I was beyond thrilled (it doesn't take much!). I squeal with delight then haul my big butt into the mall to get my super special Fleur de Sel, because any other time paying $12 for a 50 cent condiment might seem a little extravagant but, when you're pregnant, it's just one of those crazy little things that brings you happiness!

It's Official!!

So, I'm officially 9 weeks pregnant!! I sort of fudged last Sunday when we told our friends at church because I really thought I had reached 9 weeks (or was closer than I actually was). I know it was waaaaaaay too early to tell people, especially since we were COMPLETELY BLOWN AWAY by the positive pregnancy test (make that 2 tests!!), but this is what happened: the night before we told our families, Bailey was nearly in tears telling us how much she wanted a brother or sister and how we just HAD to adopt a child from Haiti! Wow! We all laid on our bed, listening to Bailey explain her case, exchanging knowing looks and wondering if we should just go ahead and tell her. But, I had ALWAYS wanted to give Bailey a Big Sister T-shirt if we ever got pregnant again, so we had to wait a day so I could get one!! So, the next day, we shared our wonderful news with Bailey and our families. And then I posted my ultrasound photo on Facebook, and the cat was officially out of the bag! And we've been praying hard ever since!!

Pregnancy Hair

OH MY GOSH, DO I LOVE PREGNANCY HAIR!!! After about 3 weeks of taking these GIANT prenatal vitamins, I am reaping the rewards!! I can't believe how thick and luxurious my shorter 'do now looks and feels. It's even easier to style, which is wonderful because I am challenged in the hair-styling department! I am so jealous of Shaun White's amazingly long red locks! How unfair is it that a GUY has that hair?!?! Oh, well, I have 7 more months of prenatal vitamins, so maybe my hair will be that beautiful by the time The Bean arrives! A girl can dream!

That first trip to the 'hood!

Well, I finally broke down and went to Motherhood Maternity today! I've been wanting to go for weeks to see what my wardrobe & wallet are in for. There were tons of good deals but I only bought a couple of shirts off the clearance rack, but I have my eye on these adorable Capri jeans that I will definitely have to have for the summer. A friend of mine is loaning me some of her maternity clothes and I can't wait to see what she has. I still remember my clothes from my last pregnancy - I had three T-shirts that I could not STAND the sight of by the time Bailey was born!! In fact, they looked so hideous by the end, I threw them away! But I also had a beautiful navy blue dress that I absolutely LOVED that I GAVE AWAY just 8 months ago! :( I still miss it!! Luckily, my regular clothes still fit and I pray they will for a few more weeks. I'm super interested in the BellaBand that I saw an ad for in a pregnancy magazine. Looks like a wonderful bridge between pre-maternity and maternity clothes!! I'll keep you posted!!

Welcome to Baby on Board

Since I am giving up Facebook for Lent (and perhaps FOREVER!!), I wanted to have a baby blog where I can share my pregnancy info and updates with my friends! Since I'm not very good at keeping a written journal, this will serve as my pregnancy journal. And since I'm going to the dr. twice a week for a bit, there should be lots to report! So today's little musing involves my favorite treat - ice cream! I've had a pint of Ben & Jerry's Triple Caramel Chunk in the freezer for 3 days, which is completely unheard of in this house! This is the first time I've felt like eating ice cream and as I was taking my first bites, I remembered the first time I had Triple Caramel Chunk - it was almost 10 years ago, when I was pregnant with Bailey, and Chris and I went to Charleston for a long weekend. We were walking near the beach and happened upon a B&J ice cream cart. I don't remember how many times I had Triple Caramel Chunk that weekend, but it's still one of my favorite flavors, even though I haven't had it in forever!! Must be a pregnancy thing!! So here I am, almost 10 years later and pregnant with Bambino(a) #2, eating delicious Ben & Jerry's ice cream. LOVE IT!!
